Ministry of Education - Approved ICT Contractor
Online is an approved Ministry of Education (MoE) ICT contractor for cabling and wireless installations. The company has delivered network infrastructure solutions within the education sector for more than 30 years, establishing a strong track record of compliance, technical capability and consistent delivery.
The Ministry of Education requires that all cabling and wireless installations are undertaken exclusively by approved contractors. Approval is limited to organisations that demonstrate proven experience, adherence to MoE standards, and ongoing training to maintain compliance with current technical and safety requirements.
Blown Fibre
Online Communications is certified to design and install blown fibre systems from leading manufacturers Emtelle and Hexatronic. We own the specialised blowing equipment, and our technicians are fully trained and accredited for these systems.
Blown fibre is an advanced fibre cabling solution that involves installing a dedicated micro-duct (tubing) network throughout buildings or across campus environments. Once the duct network is in place, fibre cable bundles are blown through the ducts to their required destinations using specialised equipment.
The key advantage is flexibility. The duct network is installed once, creating a pathway that can accommodate multiple fibre bundles (each outer tube contains multiple micro-tubes). If future upgrades, capacity increases, or changes in fibre type are required, new fibre bundles can be blown through the existing ducts end-to-end — without disruptive building work or additional civil excavation.
This makes blown fibre an ideal solution for large buildings, campuses, and environments where future scalability and minimal disruption are critical.
BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer)
Online maintains a current BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) within its team, reinforcing the company’s technical capability and commitment to industry best practice.
The RCDD credential is awarded to professionals who demonstrate advanced knowledge in the design, integration and implementation of telecommunications and data communications transport systems and related infrastructure. Certification is achieved through a comprehensive examination process and maintained through stringent continuing education requirements to ensure ongoing professional competency.
